Repair makes sense if the fault can be fixed and reliable locking and unlocking restored. Replacement is usually better if the mechanism is damaged, keeps failing or no longer meets your needs. The locksmith will first assess the problem and explain both options. Only the work you agree to will be carried out.
It depends on which part is faulty and what you need the lock to do. If the problem is limited to the cylinder and the rest of the lock is in good condition, replacing the cylinder may be enough. If the lock or its mechanism is damaged, the whole lock may need replacing. The locksmith will check the size and condition before fitting anything.
Labour starts at 699 CZK. The final cost depends on the fault, the amount of work required and the lock or cylinder you choose. Materials are not included in the starting price. The exact part and its price are agreed separately. You can find the basic labour rates on our pricing page.

You first need to regain access. Use our locked-door service. Once the door is open, the locksmith can assess whether the lock can be repaired or whether the whole lock or cylinder needs replacing. Any repair or replacement is then agreed as separate work.
